Our Collective Story

Here Be Dragons is born from a passion to protect the unique landscapes and culture of Wales.
We are a collective of artists, musicians, and advocates dedicated to opposing corporate greed that threatens our ancient lands.
Through creativity, we strive to raise awareness and inspire community action.

Who We Are

Meet the mycelium activators, we are Oona Menges cinematographer/director and Sophie Jauncey  creative facilitator/dreamer.

Oona has a beautiful and sensitive vision, she captures light with deep tenderness.  She rises with the sun and basques in the bird song of  dawn.

Her passion for the Welsh landscape began as a child in the Welsh Marches, exploring with her siblings and disappearing into the magic of lichen and moss.

There was no question for Oona that she would stand to protect Wales when in need.

Sophie  is a maker and facilitator, she teaches silversmithing and runs feminine based events.

She has spent the last 20 years walking the ancient green lanes of Powys, her work and teaching is based in a heart centred practice of holding space for others to explore their innate connection to the land.

She has a view of the Brecon Beacons from her home, with two children and her chickens.

When the  Garreg Fawr turbine park proposal came through she was called into immediate action.
